Training Services
Some commonly needed training courses are listed below. In addition to these we are able to provide training for most other aspects of care including medication administration, manual handling and infection control. We are also keen to support health and social care organisations in the development and implementation of a training schedule to deliver education around the skills for care knowledge sets. Induction Training
We run regular sessions which are directly linked to the Common Induction Standards published by Skills for Care. For external organisations who would like to participate with our induction training schedule you will be required to contextualise some of the information as it needs to be organisation specific. Dementia / Alzheimers Training
In support of the national service framework for older people, dementia and Alzheimer’s care needs to be addressed. This 3 hour session provides basic understanding of the different forms of dementia and their management. It focuses on how care staff can change their working practices to support the needs of people with these conditions.
Nutritional Support for Health and Social Care
This course uses the Skills for Care standards relating to nutrition and well-being. It provides attendees with an understanding of the importance of nutrition on the general state of the person. It also provides specific strategies to support people with their dietary needs. This course will also provide an introduction to enetral feeding either by PEG or NG tube. Additional instruction and support for enteral feeding is available on request.
Care of Long Term Conditions
We provide a rolling programme of education about various long term conditions such as Diabetes, COPD, Angina, Stroke and many others. These sessions are designed to provide an understanding of the condition and it's treatment, including the things care staff can do to support people.
NVQ Support
Working alongside NVQ assessment centres we are able to provide a flexible and tailored approach to the assessment of competence and understanding in health and social care practice. We are able to work with individuals as well as organisations to support the NVQ training process through 1:1 and group sessions.
